Programme suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions placed on schools.
If you’re a good listener and would like to make a real difference to the lives of young people, we’d like to show you what it’s like to be a teacher of Maths or Physics in a secondary school. We are looking for undergraduates on Maths, Physics or Engineering degree courses (ideally those in their penultimate year) who could come to us for four weeks in the summer. You would receive £1,200 (£300 a week).
This internship programme is coordinated by the New River Teaching School Alliance (NRTA) for schools in North London and by the West London Teaching School Alliance (WLTSA) for schools in West London. We both deliver outstanding university accredited postgraduate teacher training courses in a partnership of schools – with a view to trainees potentially working in our schools once they qualify.
Our short internship programmes aim to provide a really useful experience of what it is like to work in a school, to prime potential applicants for our courses that start in September every year.
The internship programme is no longer open for applications.
There will be two interview dates available to those shortlisted and these will be held at Alexandra Park School, Rhodes Avenue, Muswell Hill, N22 7UT.
